Simon Gill

Managing Director

After graduating from The University of Warwick, Simon has enjoyed a wide variety of business roles.

From a grounding in accountancy with Ernst & Young, Simon spent 17 years in marketing communications with a range of posts including responsibility for client management, business development, personal skills development and training and operational efficiency.

Since then Simon has focused on using this breadth of experience to deliver motivational and successful ‘people focused’ training, specialising in negotiation, behaviours and business development.

Simon has a very personable and positive personality and enjoys working with people. He brings a drive and commitment to the training environment combined with a sense of humour and a desire to make the training experience enjoyable as well as productive for delegates and clients alike.

Simon took control of Haynes Consulting in April 2008.

Richard Haynes MA (Cantab)

Senior Consultant

A law graduate of Jesus College, Cambridge, Richard began a career in marketing with Massey Ferguson. Since then he has held a variety of posts in retail marketing and business development in the world of advertising agencies, rising to group chief executive responsible for 350 people.

He formed Haynes Consulting to offer consultancy training and coaching in management and business development, based mainly on his own experience. He has concentrated on working with professionally qualified people and derives a great deal of satisfaction from helping technically excellent people improve as managers and business developers. He also enjoys speaking at both public and in-house conferences on a variety of subjects.

In recent years he has worked with many leading Accountants, Solicitors, Surveyors, Consulting Engineers and Bankers, plus more than 30 sets of Barristers Chambers in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and London.

Richard sold Haynes Consulting to Simon Gill in April 2008 but will continue to deliver training and share his invaluable experience.

Jayne Mourinho MA

Management and Personal Development Consultant

Jayne started her career in Human Resources with Cadbury Schweppes at their Head Office in London in 1993.

Jayne was awarded her MA in Training and Human Resource Development from the University of Warwick in 1998.

She relocated to the Midlands in 2000, working for Severn Trent Water Ltd, where she focused on the areas of recruitment and assessment and training and development.

With 15 years experience within a Learning and Development environment, Jayne has a real passion for working with individuals and firms to make a difference. In recent years she has worked with Haynes Consulting, specialising in the design and delivering our Client Care Programme.

Jayne’s professional yet fun approach is well received and her constructive and practical suggestions have given clients useful techniques to implement in the workplace.

David Conner BCOM FCA

Senior Consultant

After graduating in Commerce from Leeds University, David trained to become a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in London. Following qualification he left the profession to spend six years as Finance Director of his family's business.

He rejoined Coopers & Lybrand in Birmingham where he specialised in services to owner-managed businesses, in particular developing new business for the firm in that sector. Latterly he spent 3 years based in London as co-ordinator of Coopers & Lybrand's nationwide marketing of services for owner-managed businesses.

In 1991 he left to develop his own consulting practice, specialising in helping professional firms to develop their business. Now as senior consultant with Haynes Consulting, David brings his practical expertise in generating new business as well as his considerable experience of acting in an advisory capacity.

John Robards

Marketing Manager

After a career in export sales and marketing with the textile group Courtaulds, working in Coventry, New York and Johannesburg, John was head hunted by a South African textile agency.

Over the next 25 years John established and ran as managing director, joint venture distributorships in India, Sub-Saharan Africa and the UK. He established an international reputation for working with and assisting trade between, people of different races and cultures in a variety of business sectors.

In 2000 John formed his own consultancy practice to primarily assist the UK ‘SME’ sector with business development. He has worked in a variety of sectors including financial services. Since 2003 a major part of this activity has been acting as marketing manager for Haynes Consulting.
